‘Pooping Human’ project
Until now, works of art have been duality as objects that exist in reality and cannot be defined in the language of reality. In reality, we meet works of art as an object, but works of art are not only meaningful as one object. Unlike ordinary objects, works of art allow them to look at works of art as they are, and at the same time, they exist as beings far from reality through a kind of appreciation that unfolds in works of art, that is, an intrinsic process. The contradictory duality of these works of art allows the works of art to have autonomy that freely crosses reality and virtual, outside and inside. Sometimes it becomes a reality that reproduces reality more accurately than it really is, and sometimes it becomes a refuge or utopia from reality.
The contradictions, duality, and autonomy of the works described above were generally explained from the perspective of works of art starting from reality and crossing reality and virtuality. Of course, the emergence of New media in art history brought more diverse virtualities than existing art, but the virtuality of New Media Art also could not escape material limitations. Since most of the new media art works were introduced and appreciated in the gallery, art works still could not change the premise of "starting in reality."
However, that view is not valid in NFT Art at the momentarily. NFT Art is created in virtual, not in reality and also an appreciation process for the work is performed in virtual, further traded and owned in virtual. From beginning to end, a new form of art that runs only in the virtual world makes you are addicted to it. because it approaches humans in reality who dreaming the utopia by ingenious, tempting, and fantastic elements. So at the same time, the meaning of reality in this virtual world fades. The fading of reality also affects the autonomy of artworks. This is because works of art have autonomy in an intrinsic process of crossing reality and virtual, external and internal. And from that autonomy, the value of existence of works of art arises. Therefore, in this sense, I will to preserve the autonomy of works of art in which reality and virtuality are mediated, away from blanket acceptance about virtual world. and as an action for that, i will bring up a conversation topic about 'What is the attitude humans should have in the era of Metaverse?' by bring trace of reality to virtual world through my account's NFT works.
Humans who always dream of a utopia different from reality aim for an open state. This open state means a free state. So, in order to be free from the centralized reality with the control or regulation of a specific group, blockchain technology was created against it, and metaverse was created because they hoped for a more free and unrestricted world. However, it should be borne in mind that utopia begins in reality and cannot exist without reality. Humans become autonomous being because they are in a number of choices mixed with conflicting factors such as reality and virtual (utopia), life and death, good and evil, justice and injustice, hope and despair, success and failure, joy and sorrow, etc.
